The Muslim Educational Society (MES) was founded in 1964 at Calicut under the visionary leadership of Dr. P. K. Abdul Gafoor. Over the past six decades, MES has established around 150 institutions, including medical colleges, engineering colleges, arts and science colleges, women’s colleges, higher secondary schools, and CBSE schools. Landmark initiatives such as the MES College of Engineering (1994) and the MES Academy of Medical Sciences (2003) marked significant milestones in professional education. With NAAC-accredited colleges, consistent academic excellence, strong support for women’s education, and extensive charitable and medical outreach activities, MES continues to uphold its commitment to inclusive growth and social empowerment, carrying forward its mission of educational, economic, and social upliftment.
The MES Research Council, established under the guidance of Dr. P. A. Fazal Ghafoor, President of the Muslim Educational Society (MES), aims to strengthen and promote a vibrant research culture among faculty members across MES institutions. The Council comprises Principals and Research Coordinators from various MES colleges and works collectively to enhance research quality, collaboration, and academic excellence. As part of its initiatives, the Council confers the Faculty Excellence Award annually in diverse streams including Science, Arts, Commerce, and Languages, recognizing outstanding scholarly contributions. During the academic year 2024–25, awards were given to four faculty members across various streams in recognition of their outstanding research contributions.
MES has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS), Oman, to promote international research collaboration and academic partnership between UTAS and MES institutions. As part of this collaboration, in 2023 the MES Research Council organized an International Research Presentation Programme in association with UTAS, fostering global academic interaction and knowledge exchange. Commemorating 60 years of dedicated service in the field of education, and reaffirming its commitment to knowledge sharing and interdisciplinary collaboration, MES proudly presents this year’s Research Colloquium as a dynamic platform for academic exchange and innovation.
The Diamond Jubilee Research Colloquium is scheduled to be held on 21–22 April 2026 at MES Medical College, Perinthalmanna, serving as a dynamic platform for scholarly exchange, research dissemination, and academic networking. The Colloquium aims to bring together academicians, researchers, and professionals from various MES institutions to exchange ideas and share the latest scientific knowledge and advancements across diverse disciplines.
